Harvest is over and its travel time.... I recently left Blenheim and headed down to Christchurch. I have spent the last couple of days checking out the surrounding areas (wine tasting in Waiparu and a scenic tour of the Banks Peninsula). I am now heading down South, probaby making a couple of stops on the way to the town of Dunedin. A few pics from wine tasting and my trip to Akoura (banks peninsula)... will get some more up later.
I am a 28yr old who decided to embark on a career and life change into the wine industry. After graduating college with a Business Degree and working in the Healthcare industry for 3 years, I decided to make a drastic change around June of 2009: Quit my job and start from the ground up in the wine industry. I told myself I want to have a job that I truly love, am passionate about, and made it happen.
I have worked 2 harvests since making the change (1 in Central Coast, 1 in New Zealand), and have held some tasting room positions and done some sales to fill time in between harvests.
I will be at Merry Edwards in the Russian River Valley for the 2010 crush.
